Beyond Meat's Head of Operations forgets his head
Beyond Meat's Head of Operations forgets his head when he allegedly punched and bit a person's nose following a vehicular accident. For more details, read here.
Yes it's true, Beyond Meat's new Chief of Operations was charged with uttering a death threat and third-degree battery and is now suspended by the plant-based protein company... all of this because of a fender bender!? My first thought was what happens in the office when something upset's this COO?
A lot of people think that when they leave the office, they are no longer representing the company that they work for... it's not true. You are your brand both during work hours and off. The same descretion and self-control that you use at work, needs to be used at all times in order to maintain your brand integrity and that's where this COO went wrong. If you wouldn't do it in the office, why would you do it outside of the office, (especially since everyone has a camera and video recorder on their cellphone to catch this type of behaviour).
How will he fix this? This COO needs to start with a personal and public apology to the other drivers, to his colleagues and community and then get some anger management training and accountability. He also needs to humbly accept the consequences of his actions to show that he knows right from wrong and take accountability for correcting it. It will take a long time to rebuild trust with everyone which is why it's so important to always stay on brand.
